Outdoor Play
The children’s outdoor play area is at the rear of the building and enclosed. There are evergreen trees in the garden to give colour all year round. The surface is wood chipped which is soft and safe. All children and babies go out to the garden in small groups and the area is much used come rain or shine. Outdoor play features strongly in the day and is of equal importance to indoor activities.
Outdoor play is all about games and free play for the children; running, jumping, climbing, joining in with group games such as: parachute play; hide and seek; farmer in his den; bug hunts; planting seasonal flowers and vegetables; and much more. Bikes, scooters, balls, push along toys, climbing and balancing equipment are all provided for the children to choose from. Picnics and mealtimes are taken in the garden in the summer.
